P.A.S.S.I.O.N. Academy

Who We Are.

The Academy has been established to serve high school aged students who want a new alternative to the traditional high school career path. It is a college prep, tech prep and career prep type of institution.

PASSION Academy students will have the opportunity to be hands-on and learn industry specific topics tailored specifically to each student’s career “PASSION” to go along with their traditional ABEKA curriculum.

Jr. and Sr. students will have the opportunity to be partnered with internships and mentors specific to their career passion.

As a “Capstone” based curriculum, students will be required to complete weekly discussions, APA style college level research papers, as well as a “Semester Long Project – SLP” all of which will be tailored specifically to match the student’s professional career path they desire. The semester will culminate in each student presenting their SLP to faculty and industry mentors.

PASSION Academy consists of 7 different institutes that encompass a very wide selection of potential career paths students may choose from as their “PASSION”. Students can switch between institutes throughout their High School career (must complete at least 1quarter per institute) in order to better understand what they may be passionate about. The course load for each student will be very writing intensive, they will learn how to conduct research, write an essay in APA Style format and how to present their findings through public speaking. The Academy will also serve to teach students about finding what their God-given gifts are and their personality type so they can relate them to their career path. Additionally, the Academy will try to instill in all students what it means to be a Christian in the workplace. They will also learn about professionalism, business communication, proper conduct in the workplace, how to dress in a formal, semi-formal, business-casual, casual setting. The Academy classroom has been intentionally designed to look and feel like a professional office and boardroom so that students may feel more comfortable when going to their first job interview. Daily instruction revolves around leadership. Students will be introduced to leadership concepts, theories and practices. They will be equipped in understanding what emerging leadership looks like, how it may apply to their career passion and their every day Christian living.

guiding principles

The P in P.A.S.S.I.O.N

Our first letter represents how all of us have our own personal realtionship with Jesus Christ. All things can be made possible when you have a realtionship with God.

The A in P.A.S.S.I.O.N

This letter stands for the word 'Adaptable'. We live in a world that is ever changing. Sometimes change can be hard, and pretty scary. We want to show you that you can overcome even the hardest of life changes when you follow and trust in God.

The First S In P.A.S.S.I.O.N

The first S is what the P.A.S.S.I.O.N academy is all about! Every man, women and child on this earth have a special gift. When god molded you and wrote your name in the book of life he decided to give all his children a special talent, a unique talent, one that can never be duplicated or replaced. You are the only you in all of existence because god made it so.

The Second S In P.A.S.S.I.O.N

The second S stands for Synergy. god gave us all special talents with the intention that we use them to help one another. do not condem or dispize a child of god simply because they are not as talented in the same way you are. instead, help them. when we help our brothers and sisters we are creating a community for the kingdom of heaven.

The I In P.A.S.S.I.O.N

The letter I stands for 'Innovation'. Even though god gave us all special gifts, our job is to figure out what that means for you! We implore you to be open minded and that when your heart is calling you to something, follow your heart!

The O in 'Outreach'

The letter O stands for 'Outreach'. Outreach means to seek those who lack wisdom of the gospel, to reach out to the sinner and show them compassion and lead them to the Good Shepherd.

The N in P.A.S.S.I.O.N

The last letter, but certainly not the least is the letter N! The letter N stands for 'Never Quit'. Never quit means to never give up on christ. Even when things are hard and you feel like you want to give up, lean into jesus christ. Let him guide you and remember that he is 'The Good Shepherd'.

Individualized Curriculum

Academy students are held to an extremely high academic standard. Although each student’s coursework may look different because it is being tailored to their respective “PASSIONS”, they will all learn how to write college level papers, they will learn APA Style essay writing skills and they will learn how to cite sources and conduct effective college level research. Additionally, they will learn about leadership, interpersonal skills, business communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, planning and organizing, professional development, professionalism, and goal setting.

Luke 2:40

“The Child continued to grow and became strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.”
