The Academy has been established to serve high school aged students who want a new alternative to the traditional high school career path. It is a college prep, tech prep and career prep type of institution.
PASSION Academy students will have the opportunity to be hands-on and learn industry specific topics tailored specifically to each student’s career “PASSION” to go along with their traditional ABEKA curriculum.
Jr. and Sr. students will have the opportunity to be partnered with internships and mentors specific to their career passion.
As a “Capstone” based curriculum, students will be required to complete weekly discussions, APA style college level research papers, as well as a “Semester Long Project – SLP” all of which will be tailored specifically to match the student’s professional career path they desire. The semester will culminate in each student presenting their SLP to faculty and industry mentors.
Our mission is to minister to the youth of Southwest Florida through education and career exploration and instilling in each and every student the beliefs of living a Christ-centered life, modeling Matthew 22-37-39 so they can be equipped to go into the world to make a difference that benefits God’s Kingdom, no matter their career path.
PA – GSLCS believes all students should have a meaningful and challenging learning experience where individual career passions and real world driven curriculum is embedded into thematic interdisciplinary models of project/Capstone based learning.
” I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me”
Our intent is to equip them with the tools that will help deepen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, preparing each and every student who attends PA – GSLCS for college, technical and/or workforce career paths after high school, and to help them develop a better understanding for their personal passion and future professional goals.
Academy students are held to an extremely high academic standard. Although each student’s coursework may look different because it is being tailored to their respective “PASSIONS”, they will all learn how to write college level papers, they will learn APA Style essay writing skills and they will learn how to cite sources and conduct effective college level research. Additionally, they will learn about leadership, interpersonal skills, business communication, conflict resolution, teamwork, planning and organizing, professional development, professionalism, and goal setting.
